SWEET CUCUMBER PICKLES 
7 lbs. cucumbers, diced
1 c. lime
2 qts. vinegar
15 c. sugar
1/2 box mixed pickling spices

Put diced cucumbers in an enamel pan and pour the lime mixed in 1 gallon water over cucumbers covering well. Soak in this lime and water solution for 24 hours, then drain, and soak in clear water for 3 hours, then drain.

Mix the vinegar, sugar, and spices (put spices in white cloth and tie up). Pour over the drained cucumbers and let soak for 24 hours.

Take pickles out of solution and let vinegar solution come to full rolling boil and boil 5 minutes. Drop the cucumbers in the boiling solution and set aside 24 hours.

Take out the cucumbers and let vinegar solution come to a rolling boil, drop in cucumbers and boil 10 minutes. Set aside for 24 hours. Repeat process. Pack in hot sterilized jars covering well with the vinegar solution and seal.
