ORANGE DESSERT 
3 egg whites
1 scant c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. walnuts
1 c. Rice Krispies
1 pt. whipping cream (I have used Cool Whip and works well)
1/2 c. powdered sugar
3/4 c. coconut
1 (3 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 can mandarin oranges (well drained)

You can use strawberries instead of mandarin oranges and coconut.

Beat egg whites until stiff; add sugar and cream of tartar. fold in Rice Krispies and nuts. Spread in a greased 9x13 pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

Whip cream and powdered sugar together. Beat in dry pudding mix (do not use sugar if using Cool Whip). Fold in coconut and oranges. Spread over cooled crust. Chill at least 12 hours before serving. Makes 12-15 servings.
