ORIENTAL SALAD 
2 heads lettuce
2 cans mandarin oranges
1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp
Pkg. almond slivers
Red onion, sliced in rings

DRESSING:

1/3 c. sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 1/2 tbsp. honey
1/2 tsp. grated onion
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. salad oil

Drain oranges, crumble bacon. Brown almonds in bacon drippings. Drain on paper toweling. Toss all ingredients when ready to serve and pour salad dressing over.

DRESSING: Combine all ingredients except salad oil and heat only until sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly. Add oil to ingredients just before use. Shake well and add to salad just before serving.
