HASH BROWN POTATO CASSEROLE 
2 lb. bag frozen hash brown potatoes
1/2 lb. butter
1 pt. sour cream
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 c. shredded sharp cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 c. crushed potato chips or corn flakes

Melt 1/4 pound butter; add thawed potatoes and mix. Mix sour cream, onion, soup, and cheese; add to potatoes mixture. Add salt and pepper. Mix. Put in greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Mix remaining butter with corn flakes or chips; spread evenly over potato mixture. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees, uncovered. Serves 14-16.
