LENTIL SOUP 
1 bag lentils
2 cloves garlic, crushed
6 tbsp. tomato soup
Salt & pepper to taste
2 onions, sliced
2 bay leaves
4 tbsp. olive oil

Wash lentils. Soak in lukewarm water 5 to 10 minutes. In large pot put 8 cups water, bay leaf, onion and crushed garlic. Bring to a boil, when boiling add soup, oil, salt and pepper. Simmer 30 minutes.

i added way more garlic cloves..finely chopped..just one and a half onion..no bay leaves..plus, i substituted tomato paste from a tube instead of the tomato soup..used approx. half a tubes worth. i also added approx. two teaspoons sea salt and some very healthy twists of pepper..lots! also, i added a good swirl of worcestershire sauce at the end..oh, and i added a small chopped carrot. i liked it alot! served it with a dollop of sour cream on top and fresh, chopped cilantro..yum!

Good, basic lentil soup recipe. I added more garlic as well as chopped carrots as the previous poster did. I also added 1/2 of a chopped green pepper and some turkey bacon. Delicious and hearty.
