BANANA BREAD 
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. very ripe mashed bananas
3 tbsp. sour milk
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
1 c. walnuts, chopped (optional)

Cream the butter and sugar together. Beat the egg and add to the butter and sugar mixture. Add the sour milk and bananas; blend well. Sift the dry ingredients and add last. Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Remove from pan after baking and cool on cooling rack. Serve (warm or cold) with butter or cream cheese.
