SWEET AND SOUR GERMAN CABBAGE 
2 tbsp. butter
6 c. raw, shredded red cabbage, washed & drained
1 med. onion, sliced
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. vinegar
1 tsp. liquid artificial sweetener

Melt butter in large saucepan. Add cabbage. (Use only that water which clings to the leaves.) Cook covered over low heat until tender, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Add onion rings, water, vinegar, and artificial sweetener. Cover and cook about 10 minutes longer.

YIELD: 6 servings. (1 serving equals 1 vegetable and 1 fat exchange)
