SOUR CREAM APPLE SQUARES 
2 t cinnamon
1 c sour cream
1 t vanilla
1 egg
2 c apples, peeled and finely chopped
whipped cream or powdered sugar, if desired

Crumb Mixture:

2 c self-rising flour
2 c brown sugar, packed
1/2 c butter
1 c chopped nuts

Combined first 3 ingredients for crumb mixture; stir in chopped nuts. Press 2 3/4 cups of mixture firmly into ungreased 13 X 9 X 10 inch pan.

To remaining crumb mixture add 1 to teaspoons cinnamon, sour cream, vanilla and 1 beaten egg, blend well. Add chopped apples, stir in batter. Spoon evenly over crumb base.

Bake at 350°F for 25-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool before cutting into squares or bars. Top with whipped cream or powdered sugar, if desired. Store loosely covered.
