EASY HOMEMADE FLOUR TORTILLAS
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup warm water

Combine all the flour, salt, vegetable oil, and water until it forms a dough.

Roll the dough into a big ball and take about an 1 to 2 inch pieces off. Pat the dough flat with your hands or take a rolling pin and roll into circles.

Put the dough on a flat pan on the stove and let the sides cook until there are little brown specks on both sides like you would see on other tortillas.

I found this recipe when we were really in a bind finance wise. I was so excited to find something that I had all the ingredients always on hand and could make them quickly. My family loved them

This was easy. I used only soft wheat pastry flour, so 100% whole wheat. I also used olive oil. I rolled it out between two sides of a ziplock bag. I did have to adjust the water since my flour is so much less dense than anything store bought. I made enchilada's out of them.

Thanks for the recipe. My ma used to make them all the time. Shes 87 yrs old and isn't able to do it anymore. So I got the craving and tried it on my own, they didn't come out round like my maz, but delicious just the same. I substituted manteca (pork fat) for the shortening and added a piece of American cheese. Mmmm mmmm good! Thanks again.

Absolutely horrible. The flavor was so bad we had to throw out the entire batch. We tried different thicknesses and temperatures, yet it remained uncooked in the center and crispy on the outside. No offense to the submitter of the recipe but without alteration to the recipe it is simply unedible.

I was cooking chicken fajitas the other night for dinner & realized we were out of tortillas. In a rush, I found this recipe. My family loved it! I was impressed at how nicely they turned out! Hubby wants these from now on instead of the store bought ones! So easy to make, I'm thrilled, thank you for sharing!

I made them last night with some chile verde and they came out so good. My hubby loved them! They were soft and fluffy. However I felt that 1 cup of water was too much so I poured a lil at a time until it was the right texture of dough. I still had water remaining but they were the best tortillas I've ever made! Thank you!

This tortilla recipe was fast and so easy. I grew up with homemade tortillas made by my mom and these are just as good. Didn't have to use baking powder and lard like she use to, and still they came out perfect! I followed the recipe to the letter and they are fantastic...thank you!
