FLOUR TORTILLAS 
4 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 cups water, or enough to make a medium dough

Sift flour, salt, baking powder together. Add melted shortening and warm water. Knead dough 5 minutes. Let stand 30 minutes, covered.

Form into balls and roll into round shapes 1/8 inch thick. Cook on griddle on top of stove until brown on both sides.
