APPLE VALLEY CAKE 
1 c. vegetable oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. diced apples
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp. flour

Beat together first 4 ingredients with electric mixer for 3 minutes. Add to first mixture the next 3 ingredients. Stir in diced apples. Add 1 tablespoon flour to walnuts and add to mixture. Bake in 9x13 inch pan buttered and floured for 1 hour or less at 350.

CARAMEL TOPPING:

1/4 c. milk
1 c. light brown sugar
1 stick butter

Bring ingredients to a boil. Let boil for 3 minutes. Pour topping over cooled cake while topping is hot.
