GOLDEN RAISIN BUNS | |
1 c. water 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. flour 4 eggs 1/2 c. golden raisins, plumped FROSTING: 1 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 tbsp. heavy cream 1 c. sugar, confectionery 1 tsp. each vanilla and lemon juice Like cream puffs, you combine water, butter, sugar and salt in saucepan; bring to good boil. Add flour all at once. Over low heat beat with wooden spoon about 1 minute. Remove and beat 2 minutes to cool. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each until satiny. Stir in raisins which have been soaked in hot water for 5 minutes. Drain. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets. Cook at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen. Frosting: Melt butter, stir in cream. Add sugar and flavorings. May need a little more cream. This is a requested recipe always. |
