RAISIN FILLED COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
6 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Cream together sugars and shortening. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add milk. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Blend well. Cool in refrigerator about 2 hours. Roll out on floured surface. Cut and place on cookie sheet. Put 1 teaspoon filling on each one. Add another cookie on top. Bake in 350 degree oven about 10-12 minutes or until brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.

FILLING:

2 c. raisins (chopped or whole
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook until thick. Add vanilla and nuts, if desired. Cool.
