DROP SPRINGERLE 
6 eggs, beaten until creamy
1 lb. flour (I used 4 c. unbleached presifted flour)
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. anise seeds or several drops anise oil (about 1 tsp. anise oil)
1 lb. confectioners sugar

Combine all ingredients. Drop onto greased baking sheets and let set overnight. (They rise better when it is cooler in the house.) The next day bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

I spread the entire batch of batter onto a large restaurant-size baking pan and bake them in one large sheet. They cut easily into squares. Also bake them about 15 minutes because my oven isn't reliable! Test doneness with a toothpick.
