PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. creamy or chunk peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. Gold Medal flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening, sugars and peanut butter. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients; put in creamed mixture. Chill enough until it handles easy. Shape into 1 inch balls and place 2 inch apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes until slightly brown.
