ENGLISH PEAS AND DUMPLINGS 
2 cups frozen or canned peas
1 quart milk
1/2 stick butter
1 c. dumpling dough
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt

Put in large sauce pan. Cover peas with water, add milk, butter, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil, add sliced dumpling. Cook about 20 minutes over slow fire or until dumplings are done.
