MANICOTTI FLORENTINE (HOT DISH) | |
1 lg. jar Ragu spaghetti sauce 2 lbs. lean ground beef 1 (6 oz.) can sliced mushrooms 1/2 med. onion, diced 1 c. dry cottage cheese 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 2 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded 1 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded 16 manicotti or stuff-a-roni shells Combine in bowl: ground beef, cottage cheese, oregano, garlic powder and salt. Mix well. Saute onions and mushrooms in small pan. Pour half of spaghetti sauce in bottom of shallow baking pan. Stuff shells with meat mixture and place in pan. Top with mushrooms/onion mixture. Pour remaining spaghetti sauce over shells and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 1 hour at 375 degrees, remove from oven, sprinkle with cheeses. Cover and bake for 15 minutes more. |
