ITALIAN TUNA ROLY POLY | |
Great casual meal with a garden salad. 1 (12 oz.) can tuna, drained well 1 (14.5 oz.) can no salt added petite diced tomatoes, drained well 1/4 cup minced onion 1 tablespoon parsley flakes 1 teaspoon garlic powder freshly ground black pepper to taste 1 1/2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese 2 cups Bisquick or other baking mix 1/2 cup milk 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce Preheat oven 400°F and coat 15x10-inch baking pan with cooking spray. In medium bowl, combine tuna, 1 cup petite diced tomatoes, minced onion, parsley flakes, garlic powder, black pepper and shredded Mozzarella cheese. Set aside. In large bowl, blend baking mix and milk. Stir to form soft dough. Turn onto floured work surface and knead 3 or 4 times. Roll out into 12x9-inch rectangle. Spread tuna mixture over dough. Roll up as for jelly roll and place on prepared baking pan, seam side down. Slash top 4 or 5 times. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until nicely browned. Allow to stand 10 minutes before slicing. In small saucepan, heat tomato sauce with remaining petite diced tomatoes and serve over slices. Submitted by: Rose |
