COLORFUL ITALIAN GREEN BEANS | |
Enjoy this very colorful dish alongside grilled chicken or steak and baked potatoes. 1 (28 oz.) bag frozen Italian green beans 1 (15.5 oz.) can chick peas, drained and rinsed 1 (2.25 oz.) can sliced black olives 1 (4 oz.) jar diced pimientos 1 medium onion, finely diced 1 (0.7 oz.) pkt. Good Seasons Italian Salad Dressing mix 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, if serving hot OR 4 tablespoons olive oil, if serving chilled salt and pepper, if desired, to taste Pour frozen green beans into a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to boil and cook to desired tenderness. Drain. Add remaining vegetables to saucepan. Toss. Stir in salad dressing mix and butter. Toss again. Cook and stir over medium heat until butter is completely melted and vegetables are hot. Check for seasoning. If choosing to serve chilled, after cooking and draining green beans, rinse in cold water and drain again. Pour into serving bowl. Add remaining vegetables to bowl. Toss. Stir in salad dressing mix and olive oil. Toss again. Check for seasoning. Chill several hours to allow flavors to blend. Submitted by: Rose |
