3 egg whites 1/2 tsp. vanilla dash of salt 3/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. fine chocolate wafer crumbs (Oreo, etc.) 1/2 c. chopped walnuts whipped cream, sweetened shaved chocolate curls, for decoration Beat egg whites, vanilla and dash of salt until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and beat to stiff peaks. Fold in chocolate wafer crumbs (process wafers to fine) and chopped walnuts. Spread in buttered 9-inch pie plate. Bake in a slow oven at 325°F for 35 minutes. Cool well and top with whipped cream. Chill for 3 or 4 hours before serving. Serve topped with chocolate curls. Submitted by: Jeanne Corbett |
