I love this site too. My Grandmother gave me her version of this recipe years ago. Brown a pound of hamburger, drain and add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup. Top with tater tots and bake to cook tater tots. It's a quick easy meal if you are in a hurry or you have no idea what to fix for dinner. Although I can't wait to try this recipe.

Why are people using canned and frozen food so much? Are there no fresh ingredients around? Just a thought...

This site made my day. My son in law loves this casserole and he contends that the grease from the meat combines with the tater tots and that is what makes it comfort food.

We have for years made it with raw meat on the bottom topped with cheddar cheese soup and then corn and then tater tots. Know this is full of carbs but there are some guys like my son in law that only eat corn as his veg of choice. It is comfort food. But no tater tots is like macaroni and cheese and no cheese. And yes, I would make a heart healty version but when you want comfort... this is the best.

I don't cook hardly but I learned how to cook this from my mom and I love it. I like to cook the easy things and this is very easy. I love tator tot casserole and how easy it is. To make it even easier to make, put the mushroom soup in first then the tator tots and push the tator tots down into the soup so it is even.

Good stuff without meat, not a big deal anyway. I am allergic to beef.

VERY easy to follow, very quick to make, and very tasty. Fried my own onions though, also melted some cheese on top. It's very rich and filling, you don't really need the meat (I was skeptical too). Next time I think I'll add some green onions to the mixture.

I have a better idea. Since my boyfriend hates mushrooms I used cream of broccoli instead. I also added canned or frozen green beans, ground beef, and mozzarella cheese, with a twist of special seasons (secret).
