OLD FASHIONED BUTTER POUND CAKE 
1 tbsp. vanilla
6 eggs
2 1/2 sticks butter
1 c. Carnation evaporated milk
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Sift flour, salt and baking powder 2 times. Blend softened butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add milk and flour mixture alternately. Beat well, at least 5 minutes. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until straw comes out clean.

I've made this cake exactly five times so far the first time I made two they disappeared the second time I did two more and again like magic they were gone!! This time I'm making one and pray I get to at least taste more than the crumbs!! Your cake deserves 10 stars but since five is the very best than five it will be. I've never baked anything that tastes so delicious!!

I absolutely love this recipe! I usually tweak recipes and make them my own but not this one. It is delicious as is. I use it as a base to my strawberry shortcake and in my pound cake surprise.

I was hooked the first time I tried this recipe. Usually, I put my own spin on recipes. Not this one. I follow it word for word and it turns out perfect every time. If you like Strawberry Shortcake, substitute a piece of poundcake for the short cake. Delicious.
