OLD STYLE BUTTER POUND CAKE | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 lb. salted butter 1 2/3 c. sugar 5 eggs 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 tsp. almond extract 1 tbsp. milk or sour cream Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. With mixer on low speed, cream the butter until soft. Slowly add the sugar while the mixer is running. Once all the sugar has been added, beat until the mixture is fluffy. Slowly add eggs, one at a time, mixing each well into the butter-sugar mixture. Add the flour and salt, then the milk mixed with the flavorings. Mix until smooth. Pour into loaf pan and bake 75 to 90 minutes at 325 degrees or until done. |
