APPLE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. coarsely ground pecans
1 c. finely chopped peeled apple
1 c. raisins
1/4 c. milk

Beat together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg; mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Stir half the dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in pecans, apples and raisins. Stir in remaining dry ingredients and milk. Mix well. Drop from a tablespoon 1 1/2 inches apart onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove to cooling racks. While still warm spread with glaze of 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and about 2 1/2 tablespoons milk. Cookies are very good iced with Cream cheese Icing. Makes 3 dozen.
