FIG PRESERVE CAKE 
1 c. pecans
1 c. fig preserves
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and spices. Beat sugar and oil. Add eggs. Alternate milk and flour. Add vanilla, figs and nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Extra good! Good with or without sauce!

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix, boil for 3 minutes. Let cool. Pour over cake.
