FRESH FIG PRESERVES 
3 c. mashed figs
2 sm. or 1 lg. strawberry Jello (or any other flavor)
3 c. sugar

Bring to boil at medium heat and boil for 3 minutes. Pour into sterilized jars and seal with new seals.

I also have made this recipe using 1/2 sugar & 1/2 splenda. Also added 1 & 1/2 jalapeno and balsamic vinegar to make a hot pepper preserve. It was great on cream cheese.
