BAKED VIDALIA ONIONS 
4 lg. Vidalia onions
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Parmesan cheese, ground from cheese shop

Trim and peel each onion. Cut each onion as if quartering, but don't cut all the way through. Press 1 tablespoon of butter into each onion. Sprinkle with salt and pepper followed by a generous amount of cheese. Wrap each onion in aluminum foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 4.

This is identical to the way I grilled onion. Only exception... each onion was individually wrapped in foil. When grilling -turn occasionally... You will know the onion is done... when you squeeze the foil and it gives. Absolutely delicious!
