TEXAS CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE | |
1 c. butter 1 c. water 4 tbsp. cocoa 2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1/2 c. sour cream 1 tsp. baking soda Bring the first three ingredients to a boil. Put in a mixing bowl and add the next three ingredients and beat. Add last three ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased and floured 18 x 12 inch cookie sheet (with edge). Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. (If you don't have an 18 x 12 inch cookie sheet, you can use a standard jelly roll pan - but your baking time will be longer. Cake is done when it springs back in center). FROSTING: 1/2 c. butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 6 tbsp. milk 1 box confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Chopped walnuts (optional) While cake is baking, make frosting. Bring the first three ingredients to a boil, then add the last three. Frost the cake immediately upon removing it from the oven. |
