NORWEGIAN OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. Karo syrup
1 tbsp. water
1 c. coconut
1 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift first 3 ingredients together. Add remaining ingredients. Drop on cookie sheet with teaspoon and flatten slightly, leave 2 inch space between each cookie. Bake at 325 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not remove cookie sheet for 3 to 4 minutes after removing from oven as cookie may then be difficult to remove.
