OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco
2 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tbsp. Karo syrup
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream Crisco, sugar and egg. Add oatmeal; then Karo syrup and vanilla. Slowly stir in the flour. Add nuts. Mix thoroughly. The dough will be thick and slightly dry. Pat out flat cookies and bake at 350 degrees until brown.

Easy recipe. Taste good. Husband sayes cookie taste like cake. I rolled dough in wax paper, rolled into long roll. Then cut them into half slices. Some did crumble. The dough is very dry.
