SWEDISH MEAT BALLS 
1 1/2 c. bread crumbs
3/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. onions, chopped
4 tbsp. butter
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg, beaten
1 can consomme (Campbell's)

Soften bread crumbs in milk. Cook onions in 1/2 butter for 5 minutes. Add to bread crumbs. Add beef, spices and egg. Form into balls 1 or 1 1/2 inch and saute balls in rest of butter until brown. Add soup. Cover and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Remove meat balls, thicken gravy. Pour over meat balls.
