EGG CUSTARD 
5 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. milk
1 stick butter
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine milk, butter, sugar, vanilla and egg yolks and beat well. Pour into 9 or 10-inch pie crust and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven for 5 minutes. Turn oven to 450 degrees. Add 5 teaspoons sugar to egg whites and beat until it stands in peaks. Spread over custard and return to oven until golden brown.
