CONNIE'S GROUND BEEF TATER TOT
CASSEROLE

1 to 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 medium onion minced fine
seasonings (salt - but not really needed, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, etc.)
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. dry onion soup mix (Lipton)
1 (10 oz.) can beefy mushroom soup (use 2 cans if you like your casserole sauce thinner)
1/2 soup can of cold, strong coffee (use empty soup can)
1 (2 lb.) bag of tater tots
shredded cheese to taste (I prefer to use deluxe cheese for how it tastes and melts but cheddar, American, mozzarella, colby, Velveeta, pepper jack or what ever you like is great too!)

Preheat oven to 350°F. Brown ground beef and onion with seasonings until no longer pink.

In a bowl, mix Worcestershire sauce, dry onion soup mix, beefy mushroom soup, and coffee. In a greased casserole dish, place meat on bottom, layer with soup mix, and top with tater tots.

Bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes or until tater tots are browned/crispy. Take out of oven, top with as much shredded cheese as you like. Place back in oven just until cheese is melted.

Note: This casserole does not need any added salt. You can add to the casserole after the beef and before the soup mixture - green beans, yellow wax beans, mushrooms or all three. Yummy!

This recipe is unique and tasty. I like the variety of ingredients, but I wasn't certain about the coffee so I left it out. I added frozen green beans and corn between the layers. I only had cream of chicken soup, still turned out good. Thank you, Connie S.

I usually add frozen peas & carrots for a sweeter taste or frozen mixed vegetables.
