DELUXE SUGAR FREE BREAD PUDDING | |
4 slices bread 5 c. or 2% or Regular Milk 6 eggs, slightly beaten 1/2 or 3/ c. raisins Dash of salt 2 1/2 tsp. bulk Sweet and Low brown sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 2 tbsp. butter Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter 3 quart casserole dish. Toast bread slices lightly. Spread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar and nutmeg. Spread raisins over top. In saucepan scald milk. Blend egg, sugar and vanilla and salt and stir in scalded milk. Pour over bread and raisins. In oven place pan of very hot water 1 inch deep and put casserole dish in it. Bake 35 to 60 minutes and test with knife. If comes out clean, it is done. Remove from oven and serve warm with cream or cool whip. Serves 8 to 10. |
