CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
3 c. sugar
6 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt

Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed on mixer until creamy, about 2 minutes. Gradually add sugar, beating 5 to 7 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating each just until the yellow disappears. Add vanilla, mixing well.

Combine flour and salt. Gradually add it to the butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended after each addition. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Place a 2-cup ovenproof measuring cup filled with water in the oven with the tube pan.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.

A treat alone or with fruit.
