BREAD PUDDING | |
1/2 loaf stale bread Butter to cover each slice, both sides 1 c. raisins 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 c. milk or milk & cream 4 eggs Freshly grated nutmeg Butter sliced bread and layer in a deep, buttered baking dish with raisins and brown sugar. Beat together milk and eggs until very frothy, then pour over bread. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour, or until custard is set and tops of bread are slightly brown. Grate nutmeg over pudding and serve with fresh cream. |
