ANDREA'S SWEET HOLIDAY BRISKET 
4 lb. beef brisket
1 lb. prunes
2 onions, diced
4-6 yams or sweet potatoes, peeled and quartered
1/2 c. honey
3-4 cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. vegetable oil

Soak prunes in 3 cups boiling water. Cut the brisket into 6 to 8 pieces and brown on all sides in a large skillet in the heated oil. Remove to a large roasting pan. Brown the onions and add to the meat. Add salt or pepper to taste. Add the sweet potatoes, honey, cloves, cinnamon and drained prunes. Add enough of the prune water to cover the meat. Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven for at least 3 hours or until meat is very tender. Remove meat and slice. Cover with sauce from pan and serve vegetables separately. Serves 8-10.
