TASHA'S SOUR CREAM AND ONION BISCUITS | |
These biscuits are a bit spicy, but full of flavor! 2 cups all-purpose flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1 1/2 tsp. Mrs. Dash (table blend works best) 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 cup butter 1/3 cup dairy sour cream 1 onion, finely chopped 1/3 cup milk Preheat oven to 400°F and grease your pan. In a large dry bowl, combine flour, baking powder and seasonings. Mix well. Cut in butter and sour cream. Use either a fork or a pastry cutter. Both will work fine. Continue this until you have a light crumbly mixture. Add in your chopped onion at this point. Mix this well as to guarantee even distribution of the pieces. After your onion is mixed in, slowly pour in milk, stirring until you have a smooth dough. Knead the dough 9 to 10 times. DO NOT OVER-KNEAD. On a clean lightly floured flat surface, roll your dough out until it is about 1/2-inch thick. Using your favorite cutter or the top of a drinking glass, cut your biscuits. Gather up remaining dough and re-roll it on the surface and repeat this process until the maximum amount of your dough is used. You will have a bit left over at the end, which can be discarded. Place the cut pieces on your baking pan with about 1-inch of space between them. Bake at 400°F for 12 minutes. Let sit for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with butter. Enjoy! Makes about 20 biscuits. Submitted by: Tasha |
