HUNGARIAN COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening (Mazola oil)
1 c. sugar
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. commercial sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes.

Mix shortening and sugar well. Add beaten egg. Combine baking powder and flour. Mix soda with sour cream, then alternate flour and sour cream with the first 3 ingredients. Add salt and vanilla. Pour 1/2 of batter in 13 1/2 x 9 inch greased pan; sprinkle with topping. Add rest of batter and topping.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
6 tbsp. chopped nuts
