CHILI SOUP | |
This is an old recipe of my mothers. I am sure you will find it delicious. 1 lb. ground turkey or beef 1 medium size yellow onion, chopped or diced 1 large (46 oz.) can tomato juice 1 can red kidney beans, drained 1 can diced tomatoes 2-3 red chili peppers (optional) 2 bay leaves (remove them after chili is cooked) 3 cans water (use empty tomato can) 1 1/4 cups elbow macaroni salt and pepper, to taste Brown meat and onions in a large pot (drain grease). Add tomato juice, kidney beans, tomatoes, chili peppers, bay leaves, 3 cans of water. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Set heat to medium low and add macaroni. Stir occasionally until macaroni is tender. Serve. Salt and pepper according to taste. Store in refrigerator. Chili is better the next day. Submitted by: Greg Christensen |
