SQUASH CASSEROLE 
3 lb. squash and/or zucchini
2 or 3 onions
1/2 green pepper
Sliced American cheese or Cheddar
Tomatoes (peeled and sliced)
Bread crumbs
Butter
Salt and black pepper to taste

Peel and slice squash, onions and pepper. Boil in a small amount of water until tender. Drain and mash some of the larger pieces. Place in greased large casserole dish.

Place slices of cheese on top to cover. Cover cheese with slices of tomatoes. Salt and pepper.

Cover with bread crumbs and dot with butter. Bake 350 degrees for 1/2 hour or until cheese is melted and crumbs are slightly brown. Serves 6.
