WELSH SCONES 
1 cup butter (shortening)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 cup dried currants

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and milk alternately with dry ingredients; mix well. Roll out on floured surface, cut into rounds with cookie cutter.

Bake on griddle and dust with granulated sugar. Yield: 6 dozen. Bake on griddle (350-400 degrees).
