Wilted Cucumbers

I knew I could find my recipe here! Options to consider:

Score the cucumbers with a fork before slicing them as thinly as possible.

Add thinly sliced onions to the cucumbers separated into rings.

Use a plate weighted down on top of the salted cucumbers & onions to help accelerate their wilting before pouring off the brine that forms.

Add a dash of garlic powder and dill weed to taste to the vinegar. You can omit the water by leaving a little of the brine if it is not too salty.

Only use a smidgen of sugar - just enought to take the 'bite' out of the vinegar. And only add it after the flavor has had a chance to develop lest it taste sweet.

You folks are missing out on the best part of this recipe...after adding the spices specified, add enough sour cream or Greek yogurt to coat, and fresh or dried dill. The cream with the dill is wonderful!
