TAHITIAN MEAT BALLS 
1 lb. ground meat
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1 c. milk
1/2 c. beef broth
1 green pepper, cut in strips
1 c. pineapple chunks, drained
1/2 c. pineapple syrup
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 c. vinegar
1 tomato, chopped

Mix first seven ingredients. Shape into balls and brown in 1/3 cup oil. Add wine to beef broth to meatballs. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Add green pepper and pineapple chunks to mixture. Mix remaining ingredients. Stir in meatballs. Simmer until thick and clear. Add tomato. Serves 4 to 6.
