NAVY BEAN SOUP 
2 c. navy beans, soaked overnight
3 qt. water
3 chopped onions
1/2 c. cooked, mashed potatoes (may use instant)
1 bunch celery, chopped fine
Ham bone with some meat on it
1 clove chopped garlic (opt.)
1/4 c. parsley, minced
Salt & pepper to taste

Place soaked beans, ham bone and water in kettle. Simmer 2 hours. When beans are half cooked, add mashed potatoes and stir until well mixed. Add onions, celery, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper and simmer for 1 hour. Remove ham bone. Chop pieces of meat and return to soup. Season to taste with Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce and seasoning salt, if desired.
