This is an excellent recipe! I used it the first time in January when I was looking for something different than all the bottled bar-b-que sauces that are offered. I hate the sweetness of those sauces. When I started assembling this sauce, I knew I needed to double up. I also added some garlic powder and some minced onion. Braised the chicken pieces in beer first, then added it all to the crock pot. Family loved it! And it wasn't sweet which made me happy. We've used it several times since and it's becoming one of my "go-to" recipes!

The sauce in this recipe makes the best crockpot BBQ beans. Way better than Bush's in my opinion. I have been using red beans and cook them until tender. Drain and rinse well and then back in the crockpot with enough sause to cover. I add sauteed onions to suit and 1-2 TBSP of packaged pre-cooked bacon bits. The beans are quite tart so you might want to reduce the vinegar to suit. I reduced the sugar by 2/3 in the batch I made today and added Molasses as I had them on hand. I always make 3X the recipe and store the balance in fridge.
