TOFFEE BROWNIE BARS 
3/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg yolk
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

FILLING:

1 (family size) pkg. Duncan Hines chewy fudge brownie mix
1 egg
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. Puritan or Crisco oil

TOPPING:

1 (12 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate bits, melted
3/4 c. finely chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan.

For Crust: Combine 3/4 cup butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 egg yolk, and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir in 1 1/2 cups flour. Spread in pan. Bake 15 minutes or until golden.

For Filling: Prepare brownie mix following package directions on Duncan Hines chewy fudge brownie mix. Spread on hot crust. Bake 15 minutes. Do not overcook. Cool 30 minutes.

For Topping: Spread melted chocolate on brownie layer and garnish with 3/4 cup chopped pecans. Cool completely before cutting.

These are great for bake sales. Can be made ahead and frozen for several weeks successfully.
