1 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Butter, the size of a walnut
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Mix sugar, buttermilk and soda. Boil to a soft ball stage. Add butter and vanilla and beat until creamy. Add nuts and pour into buttered dish. Cut into squares.
