SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chicken broth or water
1/3 c. white vinegar
1 tsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. cold water
1 tomato, cut-diced
1 sm. green pepper, diced (16 pieces)
1 (8 1/4 oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained

Heat sugar, broth, vinegar, oil, soy sauce, salt and garlic to boiling in large saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Mix cornstarch and water; stir into sugar mixture. Cook and stir until thickened, about 10-20 seconds. Stir in tomato, green pepper and pineapple. Heat to boiling - about 2 1/2 cups sauce. (For thicker sauce stir in more cornstarch and water mixture). Serve over meatballs, pork or shrimp.
