PECAN PRALINES 
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 c. evaporated milk
1 to 2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 qt. pecans

Put all ingredients into a large pot, including pecans. Cook until it forms medium hard ball when tested in cup of tap water. Remove from heat and stir until candy loses some of its glossy appearance. Pralines must be spooned rapidly because they will turn to sugar if spooned too slowly.

Prepare top of counter with a few thicknesses of newspapers. Over this, spread waxed paper. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper. Should make about 2 dozen, depending on size.
